View Full Version : Winter Paddling.....
I am thinking of organising a weekend away in the Lake Districts this
winter, possibly the 18th and 19th November?
Accomodation would be probably be in the form of a Youth Hostel, and paddling would be for the intermediate to more experienced paddlers. I am going to look into specific locations etc and possible paddles... just wondering of the numbers which may be interested ...suggetstions...etc.

Don't forget Tyne tour Bonfire weekend
excellent...hopefully we will all be staying in the same youth hostel!!
i wouldnt mind getting on that either.
howdy peeps!
was probably thinking of staying at the youth hostel in keswick.. details to follow shortly.. there are a few nice rivers around there including the Greta and Derwent which are average of grade three. plus it would be good to have the opportunitiy to go into town of the evening! More will be discussed at the next meeting. Plus the date is provisional depending upon when the first aid course will be running... hopefully not the weekend of the 18th but if so it will be put a week forward or a week after
see ya soon

me and chris'd get on that if possible:D
hey Jim
it would be ok for you and chris to come, but are you both under 16? If you are then it means that you will have to get an adult to accompany you that would be taking responsibility for you during the trip.
I have been reading about the hostel in Keswick and it may not be ideal for our group due to the fact that parking is not directly next to the hostel, which may cause probs with all our boats on the roof of the cars!! more info about accomadation etc at the meeting

Hi Jenny ,as far as i am aware Chris has organised a WW Safety course on the Kent for this day.The Kent was mentioned anyway. So that is as far as it has gone up to now, and that is what i have put in the minutes.Chris also has a list of winter trips which i have not yet seen.Steve.
the trip that this thread origonally talked about was doomed from the start,
it now happens that the first aid course is also arranged for this weekend!!aghh
hope you are having fun jenny
