Hi all and a Happy New year! Good to see a bunch of eager paddlers.
How does 9.00am sound at Charnock Richard?
I'll have a car if anyone needs a lift or picking up.
I'm also up for a day out tomorrow if anyone else is, I'll check site first thing in morning to see who's up for it.
ps did anyone see the report on fatility on Crake?
gotta take care out there.

Im up for sunday, 9 sounds good to me. Can't make it tomorrow unfortunately. The report about the death on the Crake was not very revealing, I would be interested if anyone came accross any more information. I imagine the water levels would have still been reasonably high when it happened.

Full report now on UK Rivers guide by paddlers son, who was in the party and tried to rescue his dad. Tragic.

The river sounded very full, paddler capsized on weir leading into Bobbin Mill,
had a rough swim down part of the rapid and got trapped/ caught up, just shows what can happen on a river we know well and think of as being "easy"

I've got a feeling that this was the group we talked to that morning before we went off to the duddon.
