Hi Folks,The Welsh Open Canoe Symposium,(sounds posh) took place on the
13th and 14th of Oct at Bala. (Glanllyn Outdoor Centre) Mike,Chris,,Charlie,
and myself went along to this event which attracted between 180 and 200
Open Boaters.All kinds of coaching and workshops were on offer, from river trips on the Dee,Tryweryn,and the Vyrnwy to paddling for beginners ,Open
Canoe Rolling and Expedition skills and lots more.The evening programme was
slide and video presentations about paddling in Canada and Sweden and there
was a bar and music as well.As the B.C.U.'S changes start to bite i am sure
that the numbers attending will continue to increase. Next years Symposium
will be held in Nov at the Y.M.C.A. Lakeside, at Windermere.Book early to avoid disapointment!!!!!!!!!See you later SteveH.
