Our club has been asked if we'd like to attend a paddle on the river Swale in Yorkshire on the 19th of March in aid of local charities. It consist's of 19 km of grade 2/3 water set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales from Grinton to Richmond. There was a very good reaction to this at the meeting so I would expect a good turnout with plenty of vehicles for car-sharing.The cost of this paddle is 6 pounds on the day ,under 13's pay half or you can save 1 pound by pre-booking,there are free hot drink's at Swale Veiw caravan park , river right at 11km and a shuttle car is provided for drivers only (no boat's) at 1 pound per person. All money raised will go to swaledale fell rescue and the great north air ambulance which I'm sure you will agree are worthy causes which may one day come to any of our aid if we are in their area in need.A river guide for this section of the Swale and a pre-booking form can be found at pennine.demon.co.uk/SOC/CP_docs.html or you can e-mail me and I'll forward them to you.All interested should meet at charnock richards service station at 9.00 o'clock on sunday 19th March.Any queries please contact me Andy.
