Hi Jim
This river is one up on what you are used to with grade 4 sections and as with all canoeing this brings a potential for harm to all. It is also a difficult river to evacuate if an individual doesn't want to continue we would have a big prob sorting that out.
It is a river that could easily put you off if you had a bad day and over the years I have seen quite a few people who given up canoeing due to just that,
some being young people, some adults never to paddle again.
So with the safety aspect in mind and some guidance to others I would say you need:-
A good roll in turbulent water
At least 5 river grade 3 standard under your belt
An understanding of the risks to the individual and others (some rescues put others in danger)
A white water rescue course under your belt.
With this in mind I think you need to leave this one for another day
Thanks Eric
