Just a quick hello

Recently purchased a old town 174 open canoe, i took it out a couple of weeks ago on the three sisters recreation park for its maden voyage,
but unfortunatly me and my dad capsized it, yes it was very cold,
like i said i am new to all this,
I will be looking into gatting some proper training before i venture into deeper water,
Are there any members atrested in bushcraft also, as i am

cheers

Well, if tipping up into water at this time of year has not put you off, then i can only suggest you bring your Old Town down to Scotsmans when we get started ,and have a go with the rest of us.By the way,the water does get warmer as the year goes on; I hope! theres nothing wrong with a bit of cold water. it stops some people from moaning the waters cold during the summer.

Hi Andy They take a bit of getting used to these paddlers from Wigan and environs, some of them swim a lot and it gets to their brains eventually so they ramble a bit and talk in riddles and such.:confused:
If you come on down i'm sure you'll enjoy it but might end up with an addled
brain like the rest of us:D

Hi Andy,at about 12-45/1-00pm this Saturday there will be people Canoeing and Kayaking.The cost is £3-00,the price is the same for adults.To find Scotsmans go down Poolstock Lane until you are opposite the Tipping Arms;
you will see Rushdene across the road.This leads down to the Flash,and you should drive past the first buildings ,and you will come to the Canoe facilities.
There will be Sailors and Windsurfers about the place, so don't get confused
Canoeists will turn up. Maybe i will be there myself . SteveH.
