SAT 16TH DEC 2006. A group of about seven paddlers were well guided down the first 5 kilometres of this by Chris,Eric,James, and Jenny. We put on at New
Bridge Ingleton. The water levels were suprisingly low, although this river has the reputation of dropping quickly after rain.Anyway it turned out to be an interesting river with lots of grade 2 sections. and a couple that were a little bit harder because of the low level. After about 4 km James and David managed to Spice up their day ,by finding a 4 metre vertical fall which they
polished off smartly. There were lots of little Stoppers(2 swims for me in the same one!)and waves to play on.We finished at Burton in Lonsdale having done the easier first section ,so i guess we can go back later and do the grade 3 sections, and the play wave at Burton at some other time .By the way, it only took us 1 hr 10min to get back ,so it is a very handy river at
the correct water levels. Thanks to Chris, Eric,James,Jenny and David another enjoyable trip! SteveH.
